Since 2000, BRIDGES of Williamson County has been the lone domestic violence shelter to which approximately 145,000 Williamson County residents can turn to in a time of crisis. Some of the people we help are wealthy; some have next to nothing at all. Some work corporate jobs; some work long hours outside. Some have plenty to eat; some scrape by on meager portions every day and night. However, they all share a common bond: every single one of these people has at some point become a victim of domestic violence – an ugly, real association that we must never ignore. In the coming months we will move into a new shelter facility that will accommodate three times our current capacity. With this growth, our operating expense is expected to also triple; we are truly in need of your support. We are expanding the shelter in coordination with the rate of domestic violence reported in the county. In an ideal world, the need for expansion would never arise. But in reality, our county continues to push its seams, and we must have the capability to serve more people if necessary. Through strategic planning and the valuable input of our board and our supporters, we will meet the needs of this county. To this, we are personally and professionally committed.
